THQ have just released a new story trailer for the upcoming [and recently delayed] Saints Row title. Find out what happened between Saints Row 1 and 2 and see what needs to be done to reclaim the streets.

THQ confirms its GTA-esque open-world auto-actioner will debut on Windows systems alongside PS3, 360 versions later this year.

PC gamers disappointed by the lack of a PC version of Grand Theft Auto IV are getting a consolation prize of sorts. Following product listings on GameStop, THQ reps today confirmed that Saints Row 2 is also in development for the PC. The recently delayed GTA-esque crime-action game had been previously announced for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Billed as darker than the semi-comic original, Saints Row 2 will return players to the fictional crime-overrun metropolis of Stilwater, a few years after the events of the first game, which saw the Saints gang take over the city. As a fully customizable male or female character, players will lead the Saints against three new rival gangs bent on seizing control of the streets.

Saints Row 2 will also offer a number of new features. Previously mission-based, online two-player co-op will now be extended to the full campaign mode, which will let a pair of virtual gangsters play through the entire story together. GameSpot’s hands-on preview has more details on the game’s co-op mode.

CVG have today posted thier first preview on the upcoming SaintsRow 2 title, unforuntely the preview doesnt contain any new screenshots or any new info, it does mention the new aiming system though and the physics - worth a read I suppose:-

The gaming website totalvideogames.com (TVG) today release an SR2 article, most of the information we already know, although this has an exclusive interview with Volition’s Greg Donovan, the following question is asked “TVG: You’re introducing three new gangs in Saints Row 2: the Sons of Samedi, the Ronin, and the Brotherhood.

Seems I must of missed this one; GamesRadar have published their first hands on SR2 article, well worth a read, no new screens from the IGN previews, although I have found this footage, which me thinks is new?

THQ has revealed the US launch date of Saints Row 2 – the urban crime sim will be arriving on Xbox 360 and PS3 on August 26.
THQ Australia has yet to confirm the local release date, but the exacting nature of the information would suggest that even if it has not been announced, it has been decided.

Saints Row 2 will offer gamers considerably more potential for mayhem than the first game, with motorbikes, aircraft, boats, and stacks of new customisation options. It’s just as well – with both GTA IV and APB launching this year, Volition’s ghetto violence romp will face some stiff competition.
